
The Brandenburg Gate, which previously was part of the wall separating East Berlin from West Berlin. What a joy to see people moving through in both directions.

Above and below: Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. A somewhat controversial memorial that leaves the interpretation to each individual who walks through it.

A bit off topic....
i saw a series on WW 1 years back...there was a sculptue, maybe a pair in a graveyard memorial, and the sculptures were faceless....but the feeling of the faceless sculptures was pure grief and I began to weep; i looked over to my wife and the tears were just running down her cheeks, affected the same way by these sculptures...
I don't think I'd last very long in these places.
