Hip Update

(by david diskin)

Barbara is out of surgery. They did a total hip replacement. The procedure went very well. She should be coming home in 3 or 4 days! Will need a walker and elevated toilet seat and stuff like that for a while. But, the surgeon is optimistic for a full recovery!

I'm available to help out, except perhaps with Jake. Rah for Sara. Let me know if there's something I can do.

Thank You for the very encouraging news! Please let me know via e-mail where I can mail a card or when I can phone!

Also, I have some pointers on elevated toilets, if you like since I use one. Let me know when you can. I know you need sleep. I wish there was more I could do. Love to both of you...

Hi, I'm glad to hear about the successful hip replacement surgery for Barbara. Your experience reminded me of the surgery my father recently went for. He was suffering from arthritis and was in severe pain. Then, our family doctor referred the orthopedic at the Horder Centre (http://www.hordercentre.co.uk/). After consultation, he was advised to undergo a knee replacement surgery. It has been four years since the operation and he is completely relieved of pain. Today, he is well enough to manage even a trip to the Carribean… that’s how quickly things changed for him.
