I was stunned with this news. Please give Barbara my love. You are all in my prayers!
HEY DAVE!
This is bad news, and more sympathetic I could not be, but in keeping with my character, please be sure to tell her I said she is a klutz when the time is right.
I hope shes OK!
Barbara, your fall and broken hip is a metaphor for what has happened to this country over the past 8 years. I wish you and the United States a full and speedy recovery.
Oh no! Barbara?
Give her my warmest wishes for a very speedy recovery! Can't wait to hear from her when she's feeling up to it.
Oh Barbara -
I can't believe it - sending love and healing thoughts your way.

ps. Barbara, I know you really like our new president, and you are really excited about the inauguration and all ... but sweetheart, Pres. Obama didn't say you had to fall for him. I think he is a genuinely concerned sort of guy - but happily married ... i hope he sends flowers, though ... plus you've got the incomparable david !!
;) ;) ;)

Barbara, I expected a dramatic blog from you today. This wasn't it! Please take no offense David.
But
a. Barbara, you weren't on the Mall with millions of others when you fell, which I originally thought.
b. There was a doctor in the house, hooray.
c. My deepest prayer is for your speedy and complete recovery. Could you have received the hip you've needed?
Much love to you and David!
Oh my! I hope she recovers quickly. Thinking of you Barbara and sending you lots of love.

Oh my gosh! Were you crowded out lining up to see Obama?!! I was JUST thinking of you as I was watching it on TV and thinking you must be there in the crowd somewhere. Well, here's wishing you a speedy recovery. I'm sure all that biking will have your hips in good shape to start with and I'm sure you'll be back blogging on a laptop from the hospital soon! :)
Yes, David, I'm with RDM, I don't twitter...I don't even know what it is..facebook??
Okay...I can't believe this but the word verif. was "fall"!!! How weird!!
How awful! I'm so sorry that happened to you on today of all days! I hope you'll have a quick and full recovery.
Oh, Barbara, I'm so sorry!!!! I hope you're receiving excellent and compassionate care, and that your surgery goes w/o a hitch. I'll send you a card tomorrow to your home address.

Don't worry too much about your hip until you see how things are progressing. I know it is very frustrating and annoying to be out of commission, but you'll be out of there and back on your feet soon enough.
My mother, who was 83 at the time, slipped on some ice after a dance and refused to go to Holy Cross which was right down the street don't ask). She dragged herself to the car and made my father drive her home to Virginia. My brother came over and made her go to the hospital - in his car, since she didn't want the neighbors to see an ambulance in her driveway. My family does not have good sense! She had her hip replaced and was back on the dance floor within 6 months. She's still going to dances two years later, at age 85. If she can do it, you certainly can too! Maybe they can re-align things while they are at it. I hope your surgury goes really well.
