Cyberly Close

What an odd feeling for my comment to land next to that of a person I once knew well on someone else’s Blog. It’s almost like smelling a distinctive perfume and knowing someone had been in the room.

It happens so frequently, it almost seems like meeting for coffee on a regular basis.

Do I dare plant a note for tomorrow that says,

How are you? What’s new in your life? Do you remember me when you turn on my old gifted iPod?

Cyberspace offers us a remarkable feeling of closeness that is sometimes impossible in real life.

Lettuce -- Thanks. Every now and then I write a post that feels like art. This was one of those posts, although there was nothing invented here. Just spontaneous thoughts that found their way into words.

RDM -- What a concept: the tumbler dryer in the sky! Do you think it has a lint trap? :)

RDM -- You are too funny!

It's funny about this post. Until Lettuce was brave enough to comment, a lot of people read it and chose to say nothing. But obviously the more we all thought about it, it became more obvious that we regularly share space with other kindred spirits in a rather intimate way without ever needing to make physical contact.

Seven degrees of separation . . . or is it six?

RuthD -- I just Googled "six degrees of separation" and found: Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person they know and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people they know, then everyone is an average of six "steps" away from each person on Earth.

Now try to wrap your mind around that...
